Data Protection Statement
General notice and mandatory information on data protection
Designation of the data controller
The data controller for data processing on this Web site is:
Abel Systems
Uwe Abel
Hochbergerstr. 60c
4057 Basel, Switzerland
The data controller establishes the purpose and method of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, e-mail addresses, etc.), alone or together with others.
Revocation of your consent to data processing
Some operations of data processing are only possible with your express consent. A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. An informal notice by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of data processing performed until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
As a data subject, you are entitled to appeal to the competent supervisory authority in the case of breach of data protection law. The competent supervisory authority concerning questions under data protection law is the Data Protection Officers of the canton of Basel-Stadt.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data we processed on the basis of your consent or for the execution of a contract to you or third parties. The provision is made in a machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another data controller, this will only be done as far as it is technically feasible.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and for the protection of the transfer of confidential contents that you send to us as the site operator, our Web site uses an SSL or TLS encryption. Thus data that you transmit via this Web site cannot be read by third parties. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” address line of your browser and the padlock symbol in the browser line.
Server log files
In server log files, the provider of the Web site automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us. They include:
- browser and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data will not be merged with other data sources. The basis for the data processing is Section 6 (1) letter b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
Data transmission upon the conclusion of contract for the purchase and dispatch of goods
Personal data will only be transmitted to third parties if necessary within the framework of contract processing. Third parties are, for example, payment service providers or logistics companies. Further transmission of the data does not take place or takes place only if you have expressly consented to it.
The data processing is done on the basis of Section 6 (1) letter b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the execution of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
Contact form
Data transmitted by contact form, including your contact data, is stored in order to process your request or to be able to answer follow-up questions. A disclosure of this data does not take place without your consent.
The processing of the data entered in the contact form takes place solely on the basis of your consent (Section 6 [1] letter a GDPR). A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. An informal notice by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of data processing performed until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data transmitted using the contact form remains with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage or if there no longer is any necessity for data storage. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Newsletter data
To send our newsletter, we need an e-mail address from you. A verification of the specified e-mail address is necessary, and you must give your consent to receive the newsletter. Additional data is not collected or is voluntary. The data is used solely for the sending of the newsletter.
The data provided in the context of registration for the newsletter is therefore processed solely on the basis of your consent (Section 6 [1] letter a GDPR). A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. A formless notice by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation; or you can unsubscribe via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data entered to set up the subscription will be deleted if you unsubscribe. If this data has been transmitted to us for other purposes and elsewhere, it will remain with us.
CleverReach
We use CleverReach for the dispatch of newsletters. Provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany. This service enables us to organise and analyse the dispatch of newsletters. The data you have entered for the subscription to the newsletter, e.g. your e-mail address, is stored on the servers of CleverReach. Server sites are in Germany or Ireland.
The newsletter dispatch with CleverReach allows us to analyse the behaviour of the newsletter recipient. The analysis shows, for instance, how many recipients have opened their newsletter and also how often links were clicked on in the newsletter. CleverReach supports conversion tracking to analyse whether a previously defined action, e.g. a product purchase, took place after clicking on a link. For details of the data analysis by CleverReach, see: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/.
The data processing takes place on the basis of your consent (Section 6 [1] letter a GDPR). A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. A formless notice by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation; or you can unsubscribe via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.
If you do not want an analysis by CleverReach, you have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. A formless notice by e-mail to us is sufficient for unsubscribing; or you can unsubscribe via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
When the newsletter is unsubscribed, data that had been entered for the set-up of the subscription is deleted from our servers and the servers of CleverReach. If this data has been transmitted to us for other purposes and elsewhere, it will remain with us.
For details of the data protection provisions of CleverReach, see: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/.
Order processing
We have concluded an order processing agreement with CleverReach in order to comply fully with the statutory data protection requirements.
YouTube
Our Web site uses plugins from YouTube to integrate and display video content. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, United States.
If you visit one of our pages with an integrated YouTube plugin, a connection is created to the servers of YouTube. This way, YouTube learns which of our pages you have visited.
YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out beforehand.
The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Section 6 (1) letter f GDPR.
For details on how YouTube deals with user data can be found in YouTube’s data protection statement at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

IP anonymisation
We use Google Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymisation function. This function ensures that your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission in the United States. There may be exceptional cases in which Google transmits the full IP address to a server in the United States and abbreviates it there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the Web site, to create reports on the Web site activities and to provide other services to us that are associated with the use of the Web site and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

The use of cookies can be prevented by your Web browser. However, this may restrict some features of our Web site. This data comes from interest-based advertising by Google and from visitor data of third-party providers. An assignment of the data to a specific person is not possible. You can disable this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google Account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described under “Objection to data collection”.
